DESCRIPTION:Eleiko raises the bar for education delivering an array of programs effectively combining in-depth written course content with a hands-on emphasis on lifting proficiency\, program development\, and becoming a better coach. The Eleiko Learning System has combined a comprehensive learning design along with instructional design to deliver the most engaging learner-centric experience available for Olympic lifting\, powerlifting and functional strength training. The curriculum is competency-based such that the participants can implement the skills and knowledge immediately to increase success of their athletes\, members & themselves. Eleiko’s passion for strength\, performance and equipment is matched only by our education team’s enthusiasm for quality teaching. WE focus on teaching how to teach\, not just what to teach. \nThe Eleiko Weightlifting Level 1 live course is designed to help you develop a deep understanding of effective instruction\, cueing\, and feedback and provide a system for assessing and progressing novice or advanced weightlifters. \nOur two-day course is designed to up-skill coaches in the areas of coaching\, technical movement\, and programming for weightlifting. Eleiko Weightlifting Level One introduces participants to the weightlifting movements (snatch and clean & jerk) along with front and overhead squats. It also introduces fundamentals that are required to build basic weightlifting training programmes and/or incorporate weightlifting into traditional programming. \nDuring this course you will: \n\nUtilize stance\, grip\, position and action to instruct proper lifting technique\nUncover a simple framework for you to systematically spot\, adjust and correct lifting compensations\nManipulate the acute variables of a programme to achieve the desired outcome\n\nLearning Objectives: \n\nLearn to confidently and systematically progress novice or advanced lifters through weightlifting movements\nPractice different movement screens to determine someone’s ability (appropriate starting point)\nIdentify compensations and understand how they alter the lifting mechanics\nUtilize a framework for addressing compensations and improving lifting performance\n\nCourse Content: \n\nIntroduction & Performance\nWeightlifting movement screens\nThe Snatch\nThe Clean\nThe Jerk\nCoaching techniques\nLifting from the floor\nCompensations and corrections\nCoaching to address compensations\nCoaching activity\nProgramming\, placement and progressions\n\nWhat’s Include: \n\nTwo days of live education (16 hours total)\nELEIKO Weightlifting Level One Level Attending Certificate for CEUs\nCourse manual\n\nWhat to bring: \n\nAppropriate clothing and attire for movement and hands-on time with equipment\nAny tool you use to learn (electronic device or written)
