- Pre-Course Preparation: Complete a little work before the course starts, including learning one track and watching videos on choreography, technique, and coaching.

Attendance Policy
- 100% attendance is mandatory for the Initial Training module—no exceptions.
Physical Fitness Requirements
Our Initial Training is designed to challenge you both physically and mentally, encompassing practical and theoretical components. It is suitable for experienced fitness class participants who are in good mental health and physically fit. If you have concerns about your fitness level due to injury, illness, or pregnancy, please consult your medical advisor before signing up. We may require clearance from a licensed medical professional, and if health concerns arise, we reserve the right to ask you to leave the training without a refund. However, we may transfer your training to another date or program.
What to Bring
To ensure a productive training experience, please bring:
- Your LES MILLS Release kit (saved on your electronic device)
- Pen and paper for notes
- An iPod or similar device to listen to your assigned tracks
- A laptop or tablet for reviewing tracks as homework
- Snacks and fluids to stay energized
- Extra clothes for comfort during workouts
Digital Requirements
For online Initial Training, a stable Internet connection is essential. We recommend joining from a laptop or PC. You will need to use your computer (or mobile device) microphone and camera throughout the training. Access your training release through Les Mills Connect or the Les Mills Releases App on any iOS or Android device, and download the release for offline use for the best experience.
Pre-Training Work
At least 10 days prior to the training, we will notify you when your training materials are available for download in Les Mills Connect. You’ll receive instructions on downloading music, videos, and choreography notes. Review the Instructor Handbook and other provided resources to familiarize yourself with the first three Key Elements: Choreography, Technique, and Coaching.
Post-Training Work
After training, complete any post-training tasks and submit a video of your assigned track within one day. You’ll receive an email with a link to upload your video via Les Mills Connect.
Assessment Video
Attending Initial Training does not guarantee certification. After completing the training, you must submit a video within 60 days demonstrating your ability to teach safely and effectively. Filming must occur in a licensed facility, and some programs require at least 5 visible participants.
